The Maxwell-Gunter Chiefs' Group was formed in 1981.  Membership in the Group is open to active duty and retired chief master sergeants, chief selectees, Air Force Reserve chiefs assigned to the 908th Airlift Wing, Air National Guard chiefs assigned to the Montgomery Regional Airport, and sister service active duty E-9s assigned at Maxwell-Gunter.

The purpose of the Maxwell-Gunter Chiefs' Group is to establish and maintain a spirit of camaraderie and esprit de corps among chiefs, and to encourage a unified focus for the betterment of the enlisted corps.  Each member is encouraged to actively participate in and support our effort to set a superior leadership example in promoting the welfare and recognition of enlisted personnel.
